Slumdog Millionaire
My choice is obviously going to be Slumdog Millionaire for its exciting unsentimental look at the slums of India. None of the other films in this category resonated with me. An obvious snub in this category was "The Dark Knight" personally I believe the writing of that film was not good enough for this category. That film was elevated by its direction and its performances. However its lack of a nomination was surprising.
